Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Port Washington,
New York. In this role, you will handle essential financial
processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and
general ledger tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity
to contribute to accurate financial reporting and efficient
operations. Responsibilities: • Manage accounts payable processes,
including invoice reviews and payment approvals. • Oversee accounts
receivable activities, ensuring timely collection and accurate
recording of payments. • Prepare and post journal entries to
maintain an up-to-date and accurate general ledger. • Perform bank
reconciliations to ensure financial records align with bank
statements. • Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures
to deliver precise financial reports. • Analyze and resolve
discrepancies in financial records and transactions. • Maintain
compliance with company policies and regulatory standards in all
accounting activities. • Collaborate with other departments to
support financial operations and reporting needs. • Generate and
present reports detailing financial performance and variances. •
Provide recommendations for improving accounting processes and
efficiency. • Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts
receivable, and general ledger management. • Strong understanding
of journal entries and their impact on financial statements. •
Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and resolving
discrepancies. • Familiarity with accounting principles and
regulatory standards. • Excellent analytical skills with attention
to detail and accuracy. • Ability to work independently and meet
deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Proficient in accounting
software and Microsoft Excel. • Effective communication and
collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
