Us: At Fort Monmouth Day Program, we are dedicated to providing
exceptional care and support to adults with special needs. As a new
day program, our mission is to create a nurturing environment where
every individual can thrive and feel valued. We are seeking
compassionate and experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
to join our team and help us achieve this mission. Position
Summary: The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will play a crucial
role in delivering personalized care and support to adults with
special needs. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure a
safe, engaging, and fulfilling day for each participant, addressing
their unique needs with patience and empathy. Key Responsibilities:
Individualized Support: Collaborate with team members to provide
tailored care that meets the diverse needs and preferences of each
participant. Safety & Supervision: Ensure a safe environment by
adhering to all safety protocols and supervising participants
attentively. Engagement & Activities: Facilitate and support
activities that promote social interaction, skill development, and
overall well-being. Daily Living Assistance: Assist with daily
living tasks such as meal support, mobility, and personal care as
needed. Communication: Maintain open and effective communication
with participants, families, and team members to address any
concerns and adjust care plans as necessary. Documentation: Keep
accurate records of daily activities, participant progress, and any
incidents, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
Qualifications: Experience: Relevant experience working with adults
with special needs in a caregiving or support role is essential.
Training: Required certifications and training in special needs
care, such as CPR/First Aid. Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills
with the ability to communicate clearly, demonstrate patience, and
handle diverse needs with empathy. Attributes: Must be caring,
reliable, and committed to providing high-quality support. Ability
to adapt to changing needs while maintaining a positive and
respectful attitude.
