The Team Leader/Supervisor role applies Daily Management System
(DMS) methodology to day-to-day business operations to ensure that
targets are met while maintaining a safe and secure work
environment for associates. This role is responsible for coaching
team members, as well as making sure that all Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs),
and other applicable regulations are adhered to ensure the quality,
quantity and integrity of the products produced and
distributed.
Responsibilities include:
Provides daily direction; motivates and develops successful
teams
Participates in the recruitment and training of new associates
Responsible for all associate related issues for direct reports
Develops, coaches and counsels team members on a regular basis
Communicates performance expectations to associates
Coaches and develops associates, performing regular evaluations of
associates through factual performance data together with
observations
Ensures performance (adherence to standard work, attendance,
safety, code of conduct, etc.) of direct reports to achieve
expected standards in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery,
Productivity and Cost
Completes evaluations for all new associates (30-60-90 days)
Monitors associate performance and provides coaching
Counsels associates and provides corrective actions when needed
Ensures tasks are completed within set deadlines
Responsible for the training and development of associates
Drafts and maintains performance documentation in accordance with
company policy/procedures
Ensures safety policies and practices are adhered to and work
habits support a culture of safety
Implements procedural/policy changes to enhance department
performance
Works effectively in a multitask environment and consistently
supports the progress of ongoing initiatives
Monitors productivity to make sure that efficiency, cost and Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met on a daily basis
Plans work schedules and manages overtime - keeps accurate
attendance records
Maintains and updates all applicable records and systems
Files proper reports in accordance with company policy/practice
(accident, probation, etc.)
Promotes an environment of teamwork
Works with day-to-day activities to support process
improvements
Qualifications/Experience
Previous lead/supervision experience required (2-3 years)
Experience in applicable operations preferred (5+ years)
Knowledge of cGMP's. Preferred experience in food/beverage, dietary
supplement or pharmaceutical industries
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, TQM and Team Based Organization (e.g. HPO)
experience preferred
Must be detail oriented and organized
Must be flexible to changing priorities
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
