QUALITY ASSURANCE ANALYST NORWALK, CT This is Technical Role. Food Safety, Regulatory, Quality Systems. Hybrid Role - Local Candidate Only. Exp. working in a Food Processing Facility (Bakery). Required Skills: BS Degree in Science. 1 years working at a food facility in a technical role. Experience with Optiva system for ingredient data management highly preferred. Strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills. Ability to learn and apply effectively. Strong Analytical, problem solving, and organization skills. Ability to proactively complete work with little supervision - a Go-Getter. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ability & eagerness to learn new software programs. Familiarity with Food Safety, Regulatory, and Quality Systems and their application within food processing (bakery). Familiarity with HACCP, Sanitation, GMP and Pest Control programs. Knowledge of Quality Standards, and Quality Policies, with skills and ability to execute against requirements. Must have test case design experience and knowledge of test case design techniques. Job Complexity. Analyze data in various formats and translate into specification documents and data standards. Manage documentation related to multiple ingredient categories of varying complexity and safety significance (functional and commodities). Effectively work with Supply Chain (Procurement and Quality) to maintain vendors in system critical to allergens and recalls. Collaborate with subject matter experts on technical parameters and ingredient specifications. Project Description: Test programs, games, and any software to make sure they are reliable, fully functional, and user-friendly before they are released to the public. Use a test plan to inspect thousands of lines of code to make sure they are entirely error-free. Look for flaws and weaknesses in the program, such as an unappealing interface, and report back to the developers on their findings. Fix any system problems or glitches and make suggestions for how to make a software program work better when needed. Must ensure that the software is right for the market in which it will be released, is translated into the local language and is culturally compatible. Responsible for creating an end-to-end test plan, test specification, and test case templates. Develop and document test plans and test specifications. Develop and execute test scripts using automated testing tools; document and summarize results. Facilitate the defect tracking and test result summary processes through reporting., Review requirements documented as Functional Specifications, User Stories or Change Requests. Identify test data and prepare test cases for automation. Participate in system and regression testing and support client User Accepted Testing (UAT). Manage and prioritize defects from detection through to resolution. Data Analysis & Standards Development: 35% Analyze existing internal specifications plus vendor documentation to develop preliminary "purchase" specifications for Product Development review and approval. Research, review and interpret internal and external ingredient specification data to set purchase specification standards for various food ingredient categories and ensure their use within the R&D organization. Build and maintain "master" specifications for all ingredient categories, setting the stage for all new ingredients to be developed to these standards. Collaborate with Quality to establish minimum food safety standards for the Client's Snacks' food ingredient specification categories. Work collaboratively with Regulatory Affairs and Nutrition to develop and periodically update external ingredient vendor surveys for all ingredient categories, ensuring that surveys are reflective of current regulatory requirements. Document Administration / Ingredient Specification Management: 45% Independently manage new ingredient requests from Product Development, reaching out to external vendors for all necessary documentation. Review all documents received, then translate vendor data into "vendor" specifications in the Optiva system. Transfer regulatory (e.g., allergens) and nutrition data from vendor specifications to the Client's raw material items for Regulatory and Nutrition review and approval. Gain supplier approval of the Client's Snacks' "purchase" specifications, communicating supplier issues and concerns to Product Development, Procurement and Quality. Manage incoming ingredient change requests from Product Development, Procurement or Quality . Review requests to ensure proper cross-functional alignment. Work closely with other technical writers on the PDM team to adjust priorities and workload as needed in order to meet commercialization project timelines. Execute expedited Trial ingredient process , entering critical allergen and bulk label information on the behalf of Regulatory Affairs. Provide periodic and timely communication to Product development, Procurement and Quality on the status of all ingredient requests. Track progress of all Optiva workflow activities and communicate a bi-weekly report to key stakeholders. Business Process Development: 10% Drive Continuous Improvement in Ingredient data management business processes through collaboration with the broader R&D and supply chain teams. Document new/modified work processes and communicate to broader ingredient data management team (WHQ and the Client) and internal/external customers. Develop and maintain internal request forms for new ingredients and ingredients change requests . Ensure the use of said forms. Understand and support established Fluid Premix SharePoint business process. Internal & External Customer (End User) Support: 10% Assist new and existing Product Development and PDM staff on the use of the Optiva system for ingredient data management . Serve as a coach, teaching best practices. Support Product Development with specification issue resolution, engaging Procurement and Quality as required. Provide Training as needed to user groups to enhance efficiency. Train PD on ingredient templates and specification standards and new ingredient requests. Train Quality on the Optiva vendor process . Serve as a member of the R&D Change team, being a champion for Optiva and related processes. This 9 month position starts ASAP. This project will be extended into 2024.
