Job Description:
The 2-year Global Graduate development program is designed to
develop critical skills by providing participants an opportunity to
experience a range of placement assignments as they establish broad
experience within Engineering. These carefully structured
experiences will expose participants to a view of the "big picture"
and capabilities in areas important to engineering. Rotations could
include experiences in one Iberdrola location in Spain, Scotland,
Brazil or Mexico and 2 rotations in the U.S. (Orange, CT,
Rochester/Binghamton, NY and Augusta/Portland, ME).
For each assignment, participants will be required to meet specific
outcomes and execute project plans. Along with rotations, members
also are given opportunities to work on Process Improvement
projects that relate to their rotations.
Job Responsibilities:
The Information Security Analyst is responsible for assessing and
managing the threat, incident response and vulnerability management
for IT Security across the enterprise. Key activities of the
position include close interaction with the IT CSIRT (Cyber
Security Incident Response Team) services team, incident handling,
security event monitoring, and vulnerability management. Work in a
global team environment to discuss security issues, gather incident
data, and review security violations. Work with other AVANGRID
cyber security teams to ensure security policies and procedures are
being followed and documented. Conduct daily research of security
threats affecting company assets, appropriate countermeasures, and
industry standards/best practices. Analyze daily security reports
for indications of security breaches and/or malicious activity.
Assist in monitoring security events for the IT infrastructure, and
perform associated analysis, escalation, remediation, and incident
response. Assist in the maintenance, scheduling, and use of
vulnerability scanners, and support the overall threat and
vulnerability process. Apply current knowledge to prevent and/or
mitigate vulnerability exposure and detect potential compromise
through event analysis. Work both independently and with teams and
clearly communicate technical issues Create and/or maintain written
documentation and diagrams. Requirements:
Education & Experience:
BS/BA degree in Information Security/Cyber Security Graduate: 0-2
Years Skills & Abilities:
Experience/Knowledge of security tools including: SIEM,
Vulnerability Scanning, Open Source, Threat Intelligence,
Vulnerability Management, command line. Knowledge of protocols,
services, and technologies, such as: OSI Model, TLS, DNS, SMTP,
TCP/IP, ICMP, HTM, JSON, REST Knowledge of current industry
products such as: operating systems, authentication mechanisms,
proxies, firewalls, endpoint protection, A/V, cloud environments,
MFA, VPN, IoT. Knowledge of industry frameworks/Knowledge bases
such as NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, MAGMA, CVSS, OWASP Knowledge of
common vulnerabilities exploits and mitigations. Experience in
working with collaboration tools, such as Microsoft TEAMS Other
Abilities:
Good oral and written communication skills. Problem solving and
analytical skills. Ability to multi-task. Interpersonal and
Communication Skills. Analytical skills Aptitude to quickly learn
Willingness to travel. Must be a proven team player to work,
promote and consolidate efficient team working relationships.
Internal and External Relationships:
You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of security
activities and tools.
Work closely with Global and Local CSIRT teams to address security
requests, research security events, and address security incidents.
Collaborate with other Avangrid teams to bring resolutions to
security related issues which includes incident response,
vulnerability remediation, and event investigation. Will work
closely with Avangrid's Corporate Securities Threat and Incident
team. Coordinate and communicate to key teams about security
related activities, i.e. vulnerability scanning. About the
