Overview

The Client has an opportunity for a full-time entry-level network engineer. As a junior network engineer, you will partner with the global network team to develop and grow towards the senior level. Shadowing the senior staff, this position will explore various networking technologies including wide area networks, local area networks, routing, switching, wireless, voice, and security. The ideal candidate will have a degree or certification track in Network or Computer Science. Pursuing personal projects in network, cloud, scripting development displays self-driven motivation to grow. Minimal hands on experience is required, but a self-driven, motivated attitude is a must for this position. Candidate must have basic networking knowledge and strong communication and documentation skills; examples should be available to share and speak to during interview process.



Responsibilities

• 
  
• Perform installation, maintenance, and support of hardware or software.
  
• Identify barriers or problems and apply problem-solving skills.
  
• Asset management and shipping for local and remote locations.
  
• Patching and running data room cable.
  
• System monitoring
  
• Review system and application logs
  
• Analyze network resource utilization
  
• Provide L2 and L3 teams with support as needed
  
• Support telephony L2 and L3 teams as needed
  
  
  
  Qualifications
  
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Networking or equivalent experience
    
  • 2+ years of experience with the following:
    
  • Basic Cisco routing/switching
    
  • Windows/Linux workstations/servers
    
  • Application install and troubleshooting
    
  • Excellent communication skills
    
  • Desired MS Visio experience
    
  • Desired Cisco switching, routing, wireless experience
    
  • Desired Palo Alto firewall experience
    
  • Nice to have certifications: CCNA, A+ Networking
