Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center is a 537- bed (including
100 nursing home beds) teaching hospital and a member of Catholic

Responsible for the overall health care of patients;
participates on assigned committees, chart audits and peer review;
participates in in-service education and case conferences; prepares
forms and patient summaries as required; reviews laboratory, x-ray
and all ordered diagnostic tests; performs other medical duties as
assigned and attends grand rounds at GSHMC as appropriate.
MD/DO degree from an approved medical school. Must be board
certified or board eligible. Must be licensed and with current
registration certificate to practice medicine in the State of New
York. Eligible for appointment to the Medical Staff of Good
Samaritan Hospital and must apply to the same.

1.Provide on-site support, supervision and teaching to all
2.Provide coverage for any Ob/Gyn patients that present to the
Hospital without an attending on staff. Including, but not limited
to all emergency department consults, inpatient consults and labor
Provide care to Ob/Gyn patients with an attending physician on
staff when they are in need of urgent or emergent care and the
patient's attending Ob/Gyn is in route.
Participate in the coverage of Hospital inpatients being
followed by the Ob/Gyn service.
As requested, assist attending Ob/Gyns with in-house emergencies
and be available to the nursing staff when the attending Ob/Gyn
can't be contacted in the event of obstetrical and/or gynecological
Cover the obstetrical epidural insertion and the start of
induction agents such as Pitocin for private attendings when they
are in transit to the hospital.
Actively support and participate in patient safety programs
developed for the care of the Ob/Gyn patient.
Effectively hand off patients to the Ob/Gyn for whom you were
providing coverage, or the 405 (NYS PHL 405 requiring resident
supervision) Program Physician on the next shift.
Demonstrate team building skills
Assist in the development of research and performance
improvement initiatives established by the Chairman of the
