Position: H7 Facilities Support- TEMPORARY

Reports To: Facilities Manager

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Must Be Flexible With Scheduling

(1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.

Minimum of 1 year facilities or building maintenance experience required. Knowledge of a skilled trade (carpentry, electric, plumbing, painting, masonry, etc.) and related tools/equipment, and a valid NY state driver's license required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Completes daily inspection of Headquarters Office buildings including roof, stair wells, elevators, lavatories, and grounds, identifies problems and advises the Manager. Ensures stairwells, doorways and walkways are clear and accessible by removed debris/snow as needed

Performs basic inspects of Headquarters mechanical rooms by reading and/or testing gauges, buttons, switches, and timers to ensure that HVAC/safety equipment are functioning properly. Advises the Manager of malfunctions, issues, problems, etc.

Tests emergency generators, as assigned to ensure that they are functioning properly. Monitors fuel gauges and advises the Manager of low fuel levels.

Installs, repairs and replaces light fixtures, bulbs, switches, outlets, plumbing, doors, moldings, locks, flooring, wall coverings and office furniture. Advises the Manages of supplies/tools needed to complete assignments and, as directed, purchases them.

Completes facility repairs/maintenance requests received from Branch Offices/Tenants as assigned.

Participates in office set ups and renovations by moving furniture, file cabinets, office equipment, installing rugs, painting, and performing other facilities relates activities.

Delivers supplies to Branches and Headquarters departments, and maintains, services, maintains the organization's van and keeps appropriate logs, and facilitates approved inspection/repairs as required.

Ensures that the Cafeteria is neat and clean, and that appliances/machines are working properly and well stocked. Troubleshoots problems and contacts vendors as directed.

Picks up checks from the computer room and transports them to the Loan records Department for storage on a daily basis. Transports checks and discarded confidential material to the loading dock for shredding according to established schedules.

Performs the duties of a Mailroom Clerk and/or Inventory Control Clerk as assigned. Picks-up and delivers mail, packages and supplies, stores supplies/furniture and tracks inventory. Keeps the Manager informed of activities, issues, and changes in work schedules.
