Lead Patient Services Representative
Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center is a 537- bed (including

Lead Patient Services Representative assists the Supervisor in
the maintenance and coordination of all phases of Outpatient
Services to meet the needs of patients as ordered by the medical
staff and performed in accordance with accepted standards and
practices. They will ensure that all standards for maximum customer
satisfaction are fully implemented by broadening the territory that
the laboratory offers providing excellent customer service to the
existing laboratory base. In addition, the Lead Patient Services
Coordinator will perform department payroll and will be involved in
co-marketing activities for new technology/testing developed in the
marketplace and will also focus on activities contributing to the
assurance of accurate and proficient patient billing and
- Under the general direction of the Phlebotomy supervisor,
provides oversight of the department's operation, staff, policies
and procedures during the pre-analytic phase of specimen
procurement and processing.
- Maintains equipment and ensures that departmental supplies are
stocked and well maintained. Notifies area supervisor when
- Demonstrates appropriate understanding of the needs of patients
and visitors for each specific age group; Addresses safety and
psychological needs in planning or delivering care.
- Addresses and assists in making reasonable accommodation for
the special needs of each group served specific to age, language,
- Demonstrates knowledge of service priorities, workflow
patterns; monitors workflow to assure prompt and efficient delivery
- Demonstrates the ability to evaluate departmental performance
and recommends measures to improve services and quality of current
- Demonstrates proficiency in all areas of patient registration.
In conjunction with the Patient Access Department, assures
completed registrations and reviews with staff all corrected
measures to ensure proper registration.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Associates Degree,
- Good oral and written communication skills essential. Strong
organizational skills required. Computer experience essential (i.e.
Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Billing experience, required. Marketing/Public Relations
experience, desired. Experience in all phases of Phlebotomy in a
hospital environment, desirable.
