SERVICE COORDINATOR

The campus is comprised of a 296-bed not-for-profit community hospital; a 240-bed nursing and rehabilitation care center; and a 60,000 square foot medical office building. We work collaboratively to provide compassionate care and utilize evidence based practice to improve outcomes to every patient, every time.

SERVICE COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works collaboratively with the Hub to manage and prioritize service areas requests (inpatients and ED Orders) to facilitate the movement of the patient within the hospital. Coordinates facility-wide prioritization and scheduling of Service Area procedures/tests. Collaborates with self-managed and nonscheduled Service Areas to address barriers to patient progression. Balances the patient's Itinerary and clinical requirements with Service Area orders and availability of resources. Centrally prioritizes inpatient service demand, collaborating with Unit Care Managers as needed; ensures inpatients with discharge orders have high priority. Manages daily work queue for Service Areas; adjusts service request priorities and escalates issues as appropriate to leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma. Bachelor's degree in health related field preferred. Diverse service area experience preferred. Health related field experience preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all clinical and service area departments.Proficient with computer systems required for Hub and service areas. Ability to determine appropriate sequencing of multiple tests in various service areas. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities while working in a fast paced environment. Must utilize critical thinking and creative problem solving skills in performance of responsibilities. Working knowledge of different service areas and their roles and responsibilities. Strong clinical judgement skills.
