Under general supervision, cleans, sterilizes and assembles
patient care equipment and instruments. Decontaminates using
detergents and disinfecting solutions. Prepares and sterilizes
instruments and procedure trays.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Good customer service skill required.
Candidate must have computer knowledge and be detail
Currently certified must maintain either 12 hours of continuing
education or 6 self-study test lessons .
- Candidate hired prior to 1/1/11 must maintain 10 hours of
continuing education for all practicing Central Service Technicians
- Candidate hired between 1/11/11 - 1/01/15 must provide evidence
that he/she has been employed in a healthcare facility for a period
of one (1) year during the four years prior to 1/01/15.
Candidate hired after 1/1/15 CRCST is preferred; or CRCST must
be obtained by the 18th monthly anniversary of the position start
date.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to push and pull more than 100 pounds continually.
Ability to occasionally lift more than 75 lbs. Ability to
continually bend and squat and occasionally climb steps/ladder.
Ability to walk and stand for a majority of work time.
