Join our team and discover a rewarding career at SFCU!As the Senior Teller you will be responsible for conducting banking transactions, providing exemplary service to members of Suffolk Federal Credit Union, and supervises teller staff.Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality service at every member's transaction
  • Assists members with transactions and provide members with information about credit union products and services
  • Mentors, coaches, trains, and manages scheduling of all teller staff and performs disciplinary action alongside the Head Teller
  • Tracks teller sales goals and contributes to achievement of sales goals
  • Ensures tellers maintain cash drawers and limits
  • Review and research all cash differences and notifies branch management
  • Serves as liaison to cash vendor and courier service
  • Provides troubleshooting for teller line and assists tellers with transactions outside of authority
  • Performs research for transactions and member issues
  • Manages all vault operations, negotiable instruments, orders coin and cash as needed within set limits
  • Manages CDM and ATM maintenance, service, replenishment and balancing
  • Performs monthly audits and surprise audits as necessary
  • Handles accounting issues on the general ledger
  • Manages document retention and proper document scanning and processing
  • Approves check holds and complete deposit holds
  • Attends and participates in call nights and credit union days and community events
  • Completes and verifies Currency Transactions Report
  • Backs up other departmental staff as necessary
  • Achieves a minimum of "Satisfactory" rating on internal audits and examinations
  • Accomplishes the credit union's mission by completing relevant duties as needed when requested by management or other staff members
  • Cross train as a Universal Banker to assist member services
  • Cross-sell and refer information to members regarding CU products and servicesEssential Qualifications:
    • Knowledge of credit union products, services, policies, regulations and procedures
    • Demonstrated skill in member/customer service
    • Demonstrated computer and software skills
    • Ability to provide supervisory leadership to entry- and intermediate-level staff
    • Ability to communicate successfully with members and outside parties
    • Ability to express oneself clearly and articulately both orally and in writing
    • Ability to exercise tact and responsibility with handling confidential information
    • Ability to work with general supervision of daily activities
    • Demonstrates sales ability and achievement of goals
