Job Description Long Island-based Civil Engineering and Land
Surveying Firm, has an open position for a technical Site Civil
Engineer Project Manager to join our growing team. The firm has
successfully completed projects throughout Long Island, NYC,
upstate NY, Connecticut, and New Jersey. Candidates should have a
minimum of 8 years experience in a Project Manager role. Projects
include all aspects of site design from concept to fully engineered
plan sets. A candidate should be well versed in both residential
and commercial design and development. RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and
anticipate the progress of a given project; maintain steady
progress and avoid undue delays including the ability to identify,
define and delegate tasks to available Staff Engineers and/or
Technicians. Perform complex engineering calculations and design
for each phase of a given Land Development project utilizing
Civil3D and various computerized design packages. Generate proper
documentation for all stages of a project, while communicating all
aspects with team members, clients, and vendors to ensure cohesion.
Generate a finished product in the form of a complete package of
plans, specifications, application forms, documentation, etc., in
accordance with the format and standards of the firm. Work within
budget and deadline constraints. Possess a working knowledge of
municipal codes to prepare construction documents for contractors.
Capable of tracking multiple projects at once while maintaining
productivity and progress on all projects with minimal input from
the department manager. Communicate effectively between client and
project team with minimal supervision. Provide input into
developing project budgets and scheduling for proposals.
QUALIFICATIONS: 4-year degree in Engineering or Engineering Science
from an accredited university, with course work predominantly in
the field of Civil Engineering. Professional Engineer license in
New York State (additional states a plus) Demonstrated mastery of
Civil Engineering skills required for site engineering design and
review: Engineering design of site layout, grading, drainage,
sanitary, water supply and roadway design Proficiency in preparing
basic engineering computations. Superior communication and
interpersonal skills. Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D software.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to identify tasks and
define, evaluate, and implement solutions related to Land
Development problems. Ability to prioritize and multi-task work
with minimal supervision. Demonstrate communication skills (written
and verbal) appropriate for contact with clients and others on
technical and related issues. Capable of performing independent
