Company Location: Fire Research Corporation, Nesconset, New York As
the Senior Manager Electrical and Software Engineering , you will
play a vital role working on the existing hardware and creating the
next generation Fire, Emergency, and Industrial products. This
includes designing many different products working closely with
other hardware engineers, software engineers and technical design
partners. We are looking for a self-driven hands-on leader with
exceptional technical leadership abilities who is confident to span
the topics of overall operations of embedded engineering and vendor
management in the very fast-moving environment. Responsibilities:
Delivery of HW products with the highest quality and cross team
awareness: Manage team of electrical and embedded software
engineers and allocate assignments as appropriate Manage multiple
vendors including but not limited to design partners, sourcing
partners and hardware manufacturers. Own and operate the existing
hardware platforms making iterative improvements, bug fixing and
troubleshooting. Drive engineering best practices across entire
design team Develop and maintain HW component and system level
specifications. Develop and maintain HW verification and functional
test plans. Work with teams to improve techniques and drive
engineering best-practices Work with Production and Manufacturing
Teams to implement best-practices design for manufacturing (DFM).
Lead and manage design and code reviews Develop and automate
functional tests to support quality assurance. Ensure that
translation between business requirements and physical product
attributes are achieved. Qualifications: Experience developing
products using the ARM family of processors Strong understanding of
electronic design for EMC / EMI compliance Experience with
cloud-based technologies such as AWS or Azure Experience with RF -
Developing interactions using Bluetooth/BLE, and Wi-Fi protocols.
Strong knowledge of hardware design and components including MPUs,
UART, CAN, A/D, D/A converters, RAM/Flash memories, and other
digital electronics Experience with test equipment such as signal
generators, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc. Hands-on experience
with laboratory test and debug. Experience for testing embedded
software and test automation. Experience with embedded Linux and/or
other embedded operating systems Strong understanding of SoC
integration challenges at subsystem and full chip level Education:
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering 10 years
of experience implementing and maintaining embedded systems. 6
years of experience managing cross functional electrical and
