Name: Oncology Location: Brattleboro, Vermont POSITION SUMMARY We
are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Medical Doctor
(MD) in Oncology to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a member
of the oncology department, the Staff MD will provide
comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals diagnosed with
cancer. This role involves diagnosing, managing, and treating a
wide range of cancers, developing personalized treatment plans, and
providing ongoing support throughout the patient's journey. The
Staff MD will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of surgeons,
radiologists, nurses, and support staff to ensure a holistic
approach to patient care. Additionally, the MD will play an active
role in educating patients and their families about the nature of
their condition, treatment options, and potential side effects. The
Staff MD will stay updated on the latest research, advancements,
and treatment modalities in oncology to provide the highest
standard of care. This position is ideal for a dedicated and

SCOPE OF SERVICE Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) is a
not-for-profit community hospital that was founded in 1904. Located
in southeastern Vermont, BMH is licensed for up to 61 beds. We
serve a rural population of about 55,000 people in 22 towns in
Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. BMH’s medical staff
includes board-certified providers in primary care and many other
specialties. All BMH providers share a common mission to provide
exceptional health care delivered with compassion and respect. The
Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Health System includes the BMH
Medical Group, a multispecialty group practice of primary care and
specialty care physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician
assistants. The Oncology Department at Brattleboro Memorial
Hospital serves patients and their families who are experiencing
cancer. We are an outpatient clinic open five days a week. The
staff consists of a board-certified medical oncologist/hematologist
and certified oncology nurses including a nurse
practitioner/clinical nurse specialist, along with a Breast and
Oncology Nurse Navigator. Together, they offer a team approach to
caring for cancer patients. Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from an accredited
medical school. EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS: Strong clinical skills, with
expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Exceptional
communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical
concepts to patients and families. Compassionate, patient-focused
approach to care with an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
Commitment to continuous learning, medical education, and staying
current with oncology research. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S): Board
certification in Oncology (or eligibility for board certification).
A valid medical license to practice in Vermont. JOB SPECIFIC
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS Diagnose and stage cancers through thorough
clinical assessments, imaging, and laboratory tests. Develop
personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient, utilizing
various modalities, including chemotherapy, radiation,
immunotherapy, and targeted therapies. Monitor and manage patient
progress, adjust treatment protocols as necessary, and address
treatment-related side effects. Provide compassionate care and
emotional support to patients and their families, ensuring clear
communication and education about the cancer journey. Collaborate
with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and
ensure coordinated care. Participate in clinical trials and
research initiatives to contribute to the advancement of oncology
knowledge and treatments. Stay informed on the latest clinical
guidelines, treatment breakthroughs, and evidence-based practices
in oncology. Provide mentorship and guidance to other healthcare

this position in good faith. The listed range represents the pay
scale reasonably expected for a successful candidate based on
factors such as relevant experience, education, internal equity,
and market competitiveness. Final compensation will be determined
during the hiring process.
