About the Role: We’re looking for a Senior Research Associate who will work with a multidisciplinary team of research scientists to investigate and advance therapeutics within the Immunology & Inflammation Therapeutic Area across several pre-clinical projects. This will involve assisting with tasks such as cell culture, in vitro hematopoietic stem cell expansion and differentiation, in vitro compound screening, performing enzymatic assays, ex vivo sample processing, as well as conducting various molecular biology techniques including ELISA, western blot, and flow cytometry. What You'll Do: Culture primary cells and continuous cell lines such as neutrophils, hematopoietic stem cells, immune cells, and/or relevant cell lines to support in vitro/ex vivo experiments. Develop, optimize and perform in vitro assays, including ELISA, to support compound screening. Conduct molecular and cell biology techniques such as flow cytometry, ELISA, and western blot. Process, analyze, and interpret complex datasets using Excel, XLfit, FlowJo, and GraphPad Prism to generate insights that support decision-making. Prepare concise PowerPoint presentations to communicate key data and findings. Maintain proper documentation of experimental procedures and results via an electronic laboratory notebook. Present scientific data and key findings at internal research meetings Prepare and maintain a constant supply of reagents, buffers, and other materials to support on-going assays. Who You Are: Master’s degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or related subject area with at least 1-3 years of pharmaceutical experience or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or related subject area with at least 3-5 years of pharmaceutical experience. Experience working with immune cells and knowledge of cell biology and immunology are required. Strong hands-on experience in cell culture and standard molecular biology assays, including enzymatic assays, flow cytometry, ELISA, and western blot. Familiarity with data processing, analysis, statistics, and data interpretation. Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a team environment, while also taking initiative independently. Must have strong organization, time management, and keen attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present data and ideas. A track record of embodying Insmed’s five (5) core values: Passion, Accountability, Collaboration, Integrity, and Respect. Nice to have (but not required): Experience working with hematopoietic stem cells is a plus. Experience working with cellular imaging instruments, fluorescence microscopes and qPCR in a plus. Knowledge of neuronal cell biology is a plus. Experience working with microglia/astrocyte co-cultures, neuroinflammation assays, and BBB models is a plus. Where You’ll Work This role is based out of our Bridgewater Research & Development Lab and requires full-time, in-person presence to support hands-on collaboration, access specialized equipment, and/or operational needs.
