Job Description We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to become a part of our team You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly. This full-time position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience. Spanish speaking plus. Responsibilities include: - Measuring and recording the patient's vital signs (e.g. height, weight, blood pressure etc). - Recording the patient's medical history and reason for visit. - Performing certain diagnostic tests (such as EKG, Spirometry, phlebotomy, etc) and assisting physician with certain medical procedures, as needed. - Collecting, labeling and routing specimens according to standard procedures. - Preparing patient records prior to visit by ensuring that required lab results and documentation are entered in the medical record for practitioner review. - Performing a variety of front office duties such as processing insurance forms, preparing financial records, photocopying and answering phones. - Maintaining the orderliness of the office by stocking cupboards and monitoring supplies - Performing and documenting controls and calibration of laboratory equipment when needed. Qualifications: - Successful completion of an accredited program for Medical Assistants - Certification or registration with the American Association of Medical Assistants - At least one year experience as a medical assistant in a physician's office - Familiarity with computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite - Good reading, writing and math skills - Patient/Customer service oriented - Phlebotomy Certification preferred We will train the right candidate on the use of our office EMR (Electronic Medical Records) System.
