communities.National Grid Ventures is hiring a RTO/ISO Policy
Director, Regulatory Delivery & Strategy. The hybrid role can be
located in our Albany, NY, Brooklyn, NY, Boston, MA or Waltham, MA
office.Job PurposeThe RTO/ISO Policy Director is a critical role
leading policy development and execution in support of NGV's US
portfolio with a primary focus on driving growth in its competitive
transmission business. The role reports to the Chief Commercial
Officer (CCO) and partners with the RTO Business Development
Directors and Commercial Directors in the (CCO) organization to
advance policies that are favorable to National Grid and
competitively position the organization to win. The RTO/ISO Policy
Director is responsible for the monitoring, analysis and proactive
policy engagement across the RTOs/ISOs (currently NE-ISO, NYISO,
MISO and PJM with opportunity to expand into other regions) to
support successful market entries and commercial market formation.
The role will be responsible for tracking, advocating and advancing
policy positions across the RTO/ISO's and within their respective
States including, but not limited to the Public Service
Commissions, state agencies and/or their equivalent governmental
bodies.The Director will manage team members in each RTO/ISO
ensuring best practices and coordination of positions horizontally
across the RTOs. The role requires a strong understanding of the
relevant federal and state regulatory environments and policies to
advance policy advocacy holistically. The role requires close
coordination with Corporate Affairs (Government Affairs, External
Communications and Stakeholder Management) to align and advance
policy execution. The Director will collaborate and coordinate with
all internal policy and regulatory stakeholder and advisory groups
to ensure alignment at an enterprise level and ensure NGV's
perspective is shared and considered.This role is a unique
opportunity to work with a highly dynamic, motivated,
forward-thinking, commercially oriented team; to interact with and
influence decisions makers; and identify and solve complex
challenges facing large-scale energy development across generation,
transmission and energy storage.Key Accountabilities---
Identification of issues, monitoring and tracking of relevant
activities at the ISOs / RTOs and respective proceedings at State
Public Service Commissions and state agencies--- Develop and
maintain relationships with key staff at the ISOs / RTOs and State
Public Service Commissions--- Support and advise teams engaged in
development of transmission line projects within the ISO / RTO
footprints to compete and win--- Align internally within NGV with
transmission policy and project development across markets---
Engage with stakeholders active in the ISO / RTO markets and member
States in coordination with National Grid's Corporate Affairs,
internal regulatory groups and Stakeholder engagement teams---
Develop policy trackers, prepare summaries of policy options and
positions, and draft comments and negotiate policy positions with
various internal and external stakeholders--- Represent NGV US in
external meetings at RTOs / ISOs and State Public Service
Commissions and report on policy developments--- Collaborate with
diverse groups within National Grid to ensure awareness of NGV
projects and internal alignment on policy positions--- Align NGV's
US businesses and strategic policy planningQualifications---
Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred, with at least 10
years of relevant professional experience working with a ISO / RTO,
State Utility Commission, Utility, energy developer or as a
consultant to these industries --- Demonstrated experience working
closely with a minimum of 2 of the focused RTOs--- Educational
background in engineering, life sciences, economics, policy and/or
legal--- Detail-oriented, independent self-starter, quick-learner,
and analytical--- Excellent written and verbal communication
skills--- Understanding of US, regional and State energy policy and
markets, and experience within the ISO / RTO regions---
Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills--- Ability to
travel within ISO / RTO region and to NGV meetings in NYC and/or

yearUpstate NY $170,000 - $200,000 a yearNew England MA $190,000 -
224,000 a yearThis position has a career path which provides for
advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop
and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and
acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be
assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of
