impact organization that offers management consulting and capacity
building services to nonprofit organizations, businesses,
educational institutions, and state and local government entities,
is looking to hire a Data Analytics and Financial Modeling
Associate to support our statewide work in transforming the Early
Childhood Care and Education sector. This is a full-time postion
(40 hours/week). This is a historic moment given the opportunity to
work with multiple stakeholders including the Office of Early
Childhood, the business community, early childhood providers,
community organizations, and parents to develop a long term plan to
build a stronger early childhood system in Connecticut. It is our
goal that Connecticut develop a high quality, accessible,
affordable early learning system that will advance children's
learning and economic opportunities for families and make CT the
most family friendly state in the country. SVP is well positioned
to support this transformational work through our involvement with
the Office of Early Childhood OEC), Child Care for Connecticut's
Future advocacy coalition, and leading Early Childhood Education
organizations. The Data Analytics and Financial Modeling Associate
will report to senior members of the Social Venture Partners team
and will be responsible for working with the OEC as well as diverse
stakeholders to develop and support the execution of a
comprehensive statewide Early Childhood plan that will transform
the Early Childhood Sector in Connecticut. Core
Responsibilities
- Develop, refine, and enhance financial models of the childcare
sector.
- Research the current state of the ECE market, and alternative
approaches, and providing written summaries.
- Assess the cost to our state economy of an inadequate child
care system.
- Utilize financial models to quantify the impact of various
investment strategies on the provision of childcare services.
- Determine the investment cost needed to fix the system.
- Collaborate with public and private sector stakeholders in
refining financial models and decision-making processes that result
in effective policy recommendations.
- Describe and quantify the gap between the current state and a
desired state.
- Measuring the ROI of early childhood education
investments.
- Partner with the OEC to develop a strategic plan for an
accessible, affordable, equitable, high-quality childcare system.
Provide strategic thought leadership for this project. About Social

Skills and Experience
- Deep understanding of the different types of data (qualitative,
quantitative, statistical, survey data) and their uses for
financial analysis, modeling, and reporting. Ability to integrate
diverse sources of information to dynamically model a sector of the
economy
- Experience in conceptualizing and developing large financial
models utilizing Microsoft Excel, as well as graphics and
visualization software, and effectiveness in creating Powerpoint
presentations.
- Ability to understand complex economic systems, business
models, and leverage other financial models from other geographies,
and bring innovative thinking to the financial planning
process.
- Strategic analysis skills in understanding businesses and key
financial levers of a company
- Experience developing positive working relationships with
diverse stakeholders based upon mutual trust and respect.
- Deep commitment to equity and experience in meaningful
stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to form partnerships, motivate and build buy-in across
grassroots, senior business and government leaders, nonprofit and
philanthropic stakeholders.
- Knowledge and experience in early childhood education system,
policies, and best practices is a plus.
- Organizational and project management skills with demonstrated
experience managing end-to-end projects.
- Strong communication skills-both verbal and written. Comfort
with public speaking. Ability to translate information into clear
outputs for key stakeholders.
- Self-starter who is pro-active and demonstrates high levels of
motivation, organization and accountability and is capable of
working well both independently and as a team member.
- Project measurement and evaluation skills. Benefits
Compensation and Benefits Salary range is $75,000-$100,000 per
annum plus benefits. Full-time employees are eligible for paid
time-off; medical, dental, and life insurance; a tech stipend;
participation in SVP's 401k retirement savings plan. Work Location
and Requirements This postion will require attending key meetings
in person in Westport and other locations in Connecticut, but there
will be opportunity to perform some work remotely. All employees
