To continue to meet our customer's mission critical needs, DDC is seeking a Principle Process Engineer to join our respected and valued team.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:



  • Provide day-to-day Process Engineering support to all areas of the company (Engineering, Product Development, Procurement, Manufacturing and Product Assurance).


  • Provide daily oversight of production processes with a focus towards improving processes, avoiding problems, and the timely resolution of production issues in an effort to support the on-time and cost efficient shipment of quality products


  • Mentor, coach, direct and train less senior engineers, technicians, and interns to facilitate their ability to progress to higher levels of technical and professional achievement


  • Develop/Review/Revise work instructions and procedures in support of manufacturing processes


  • Lead the programming and support activities for automated Hybrid Microelectronics Manufacturing equipment (pick and place, die bonding, wire bonding, stencil printing, epoxy dispensing and material handling). Provide production operations personnel with training and technical guidance


  • Provide SME technical support to the Business Unit teams and DDC's end customers as required


  • Contribute technical input to proposals and make technical presentations to customers that directly support the winning of new business


  • Assist in the evaluation and disposition of discrepant materials at Incoming Inspection and Manufacturing and actively participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings


  • Support the development of new methods, processes, and equipment and apply them to the manufacturing operation for productivity gains


  • Provide input and implement annual capital equipment plan to support capacity needs and drive efficiencies


  • Coordinate testing (internally or at appropriate outside labs) to perform comprehensive failure analyses of both internally detected defects and customer returns


  • May provide technical support to, and assist in determining the technical and manufacturing capability of vendors


    Qualifications
    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :


    • Demonstrated ability to develop, articulate and present technical information appropriately targeted to meet the needs of audiences at all levels including highly technical to non-technical in both written and verbal forms


    • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.


    • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions. Ability to plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of others.


    • Skill in monitoring/assessing the performance of self, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action


      Educational / Experience / Qualifications :


      • A.A.S. in Electronics Engineering, Material Science, Applied Science or equivalent is required


      • B.S. in Material Science, Electrical or Metallurgical Engineering or Applied Science degree preferred


      • Working knowledge of MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534 and MIL-PRF-38535


      • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments desirable


      • 10 + years relevant work experience required


      • Prior leadership/supervisory experience in electronics / industrial work environment


      • Any combination of education, training and experience listed above that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.


      • Due to US export control laws, candidates must be US Citizens, Permanent Residents or Green Card Holders.
