Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and versatile Senior Insurance
Underwriter with a decade of hands-on experience in underwriting
Property & Casualty, Life, Health, and Term Life insurance. The
ideal candidate will bring a balance of technical risk assessment
skills, regulatory knowledge, and client-focused judgment,
developed over years of working with insurance brokerages and
financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze & assess risks in P&C, Life, Health, and Term Life
lines.
Determine pricing and recommend coverage based on risk exposure,
underwriting policies, and regulatory frameworks.
Work closely with insurance agents, brokers, and sales teams to
obtain required information and communicate underwriting decisions
clearly.
Lead cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions to
clients.
Apply industry knowledge and market trends to adjust underwriting
strategies to improve risk selection and profitability.
Develop and maintain productive relationships with key clients,
reinsurance partners, and internal stakeholders.
Participate in audit reviews, process improvement initiatives, and
product development discussions.
Mentor junior underwriters and assist with training on underwriting
guidelines and tools.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Business, or a related
field.
10+ years of underwriting experience across multiple lines:
Property & Casualty, Life, Health, and Term Life.
Demonstrated expertise in risk evaluation, pricing models, and
claims forecasting.
Strong working knowledge of insurance regulations and compliance in
the U.S. market.
Proficient with underwriting platforms, CRM systems, and analytics
tools.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with proven
experience in client-facing roles.
Preferred Certifications:
CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter)
LOMA, AALU, or related life and health certifications
State insurance licensing (a plus)
