Job DescriptionInterlock Financial is seeking a motivated Client Service Specialist for a growing independent financial planning firm in Westport, CT. The firm would be interested in you if you desire a boutique firm environment; want to be involved in all aspects of the business, learning and shaping the way we care for our clients; and is excited to work your way up the career ladder. The Client Service Specialist will contribute to the team by ensuring that clients and contacts are receiving outstanding customer service and professional communications.Interlock Financial provides financial planning services and wealth management to high net worth individuals and businesses. We pride ourselves on working hard, but also have fun, in a family-like work atmosphere offering a competitive salary. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responds to emails, answers phones and communicates in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner
  • Resolves standard client issues effectively and efficiently including, address changes, sending and receiving client deposits and withdrawals, opening accounts, processes new business, liquidates accounts, set up and teach client on-line access, write letters as required, and obtain tax documents
  • Maintains contact with clients regarding their accounts, and can clearly articulate any service requests
  • Scans, files, and manages on-line documentation
  • Researches client issues, historical transactions, etc.
  • Assists with researching and preparing consolidated account statements for clients. Locate and verify account balances, positions and (where appropriate) calculate performance. Obtain and include all necessary documentation and support materials
  • Attend client meetings; responsible for meeting preparation and follow-up including assembling requisite paperwork, account reviews, report generation and meeting documentation
  • Maintain CRM database
  • Places trades in client accounts as directed
  • Assists with other administrative tasks as needed
  • Protects clients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
  • Performs tasks in a manner that displays a commitment to excellence, best practices, compassionate and superior customer service with every client and co-worker
  • Performs all duties with utmost integrity
  • Performs other duties as requiredRequirementsRequired Skills & Qualifications:
    • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
    • Highly organized with absolute attention to detail
    • Client-first attitude, creative thinker
    • Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently
    • Self-motivated and demonstrated initiative to work independently
    • Strong computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook and efficient and effective at navigating the Internet and major social media platforms
    • Professional demeanor in handling all aspects of business
    • Ability to maintain industry compliance requirements
    • Ability to work courteously and respectfully with clients, co-workers and vendorsRequired Experience & Education:
      • Minimum of 3 years of financial services, hands-on client experience
      • Previous experience in the independent financial services culture preferred
      • Series 7, 63, 65, 66 or 6 license required or obtained within 6 months from the of time of hire
